Last October I was lucky enough to be in London for the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace. While I was there I did a Felted Notebook Cover class with Sandra Togher from Bowery Gallery. On the day I did a right muck-up of the job, I ended up sewing it all inside out and the class finished before I could fix it up. I have been wanting to try the technic again to see where I went wrong and how maybe I can adapt it. Back in June I did a sample piece with my new sewing machine called SEWS METALLIC THREAD LIKE A DREAM, well today I have turned that sample piece into a Journal Cover using the same technics Sandra showed us on the day. I now have a better idea of how I might change the design, including where I add a 1/4 inch to the measurements for top stitching, but all in all I am pretty happy with the basic design. I now feel great about completing another project I hadn’t finished off.
